Empanada Kitchen was born in 2016 from a notion to bring a piece of Argentine culinary culture to San Diego. They originally began freshly baking and selling empanadas in multiple farmers markets around the city. Due to increasing popularity, it opened its first storefront location in Downtown San Diego in 2018 and its second location in North Park in 2019.

In 2019 Empanada Kitchen was feature in the Yelp Top 100 restaurants in the US.

Empanada Kitchen serves authentic and happily baked Argentine style empanadas made with special care. A variety of empanada flavors are available including vegetarian and vegan options, as well as seasonal ingredients. Empanadas are always accompanied with its famous homemade chimichurri sauce made fresh everyday following a traditional gaucho-approved recipe.
