The Washington Elementary School Foundation was established in 2007 to promote the school within the Little Italy community of downtown San Diego. The Washington Elementary School Foundation (WESF) enhances and expands the educational program, at Washington S.T.E.A.M. Magnet, by sponsoring extended learning opportunities, as well as excursions into, and participation in, the local community and culture. We coordinate and sponsor leadership opportunities for our older students such as the safety patrol, afterschool clubs, and student businesses. Our premier event, Van-Go helps to both promote our school and define us as the finest S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) school in California.
