This week’s artist: Helena Holleran

Helena Holleran is a singer-songwriter/musician based out of San Diego, California. Growing up in a musical household and learning mostly by ear, Helena is accomplished in guitar, piano, vocals, and songwriting – all of which helped her in developing a style that is completely unique. Her eclectic sound draws influence from 60s/70s rock & roll, R&B, folk, jazz, Latin, soul, and hints of reggae. Her music pays homage to the artists she studies and deeply appreciate’s across all decades such as Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, King Pleasure, Nina Simone, Etta James, Curtis Mayfield, Esperanza Spalding, Ms. Lauryn Hill, & Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes.
